And even though it is essentially five full outfits, and all hand sewn the several months it has taken me already, looking at the same damn fabrics for months at a time makes me insane! I think the fact that I spend so much time on these things getting them just right, is why by the time they're finished I'm so sick of looking at them. I just had another issue pop up, I'm making an authentically styled 14th century gown which has fur around the cuffs, collar and hem, but if I just sew the fur on it won't be washable, and then how can I make the fur panels detachable without compromising the authenticity of the garment and using domes or velcro? The answer; a painstaking matter of sewing dozens of tiny glass bead buttons around those area's and lining the fur, and sewing dozens of tiny corresponding hand sewn buttonholes. COMPLETE MADNESS!
Why do I do these things to myself?
I wonder how many people would even care if it's authentic or covered in silly little metal domes.
